Covering almost four square kilometres, and having a population of almost 5,000, the suburb is home to two childcare centres and the Boambee East Community Centre. Predominantly a family area, housing is generally late 1980’s, 1990’s as well as several new subdivisions, with a sprinkling of villas and townhouses  throughout. Many homes enjoy an outlook over semi-rural distant hills.
